Hearts of Gold Cantaloupe Festival, Jr. Rodeo & Concert
Cantaloupe are ripe and delicious this time of year. All the more reason to attend the family-friendly Hearts of Gold Cantaloupe Festival in Fallon, Nevada. The festival runs over Labor Day Weekend from September 3 to September 6.
The festival features great food, a junior rodeo and country music. Some of the events include: Hypnotist Susan Rosen, Juggler Spike McGuire, Fallon Swing Dancers, Littlest Cowboy / Cowgirl Contest, Cantaloupe Queen Contest, Overland Hotel's Horseshoe Tournament, Buckin' Bull, Pony Rides, Dunk Tank, Arm wrestling Championships, Teen Dance, Art Exhibit, Sunday Night Karaoke Contest, Elks Beer Garden and Troy's Double Shot Bar - Home of the World Famous Cantaloupe Daiquiri.
The annual event features, craft vendors, mud volleyball, horseshoe tournament, arm wrestling tournament, guitar hero contest, teen dance, live music and much more. Rick Hays & American Steel performs on Friday followed by the Alabama tribute band, Tennessee River. The Saturday night concert features Fallon's own Ten Ta Midnite followed by Journey Unauthorized, playing Journey favorites.
Ticket prices are $5 for adults, $4 for military & seniors 62 and older, $3 for children ages 3 to 10, and children 2 and under are free.
