While the crash that killed Fast and Furious actor, Paul Walker, and his friend and business partner, Roger Rodas, is still being investigated, new tragic information has come out. On Saturday afternoon, it appears that Roger and Paul were checking out a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT for mechanical problems to help the owner. They were all attending the "Charity Toy Drive & Automotive Social Gathering" to help those affected by Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines on behalf on Walker's charity, Reach Out Worldwide. The event was in an auto shop just a couple of hundred feet away from a shop owned by Rodas.
Witnesses say that Walker was smiling when he got into the car. Just seconds later, some heard a blast before the crash. A witness wonders if it may have been a tire. Friends and fans ran outside and saw the car in flames. In new video, you can see car after car arriving at the scene. People were jumping out, running to try and help and going through an unknown amount of fire extinguishers to no avail. Heartbreaking new information reveals two of the witnesses were the 8-year-old son of Rodas and the 15-year-old daughter of Walker.
Walker's daughter, Meadow, had recently moved from Hawaii to live with her father in California. Paul said in an interview, "I’m grateful I had her at 25 and not 20 because, at 40 and 15, we’re matching up sweet! She’s been with her mom her whole life and she wants a relationship with her pops. It’s working out really well right now." Paul's father, Paul Sr. said, "His heart was so big, I was proud of him every day of his life. I'm just ... glad that every time I saw him, I told him I loved him. And he would say the same thing to me."
Paul Walker's family asked that instead of flowers, people make donations to his charity Reach Out Worldwide.
