Heart and liver Valentine treats for your dog

See also

Organ meats are loaded with lots of enzymes and nutrition for you dog. Incorporating a little liver and heart is a great way for your dog to get a broad spectrum of nutrients beyond his daily diet. Here is a Valentine recipe that is easy to make and that your dog will love!

1/4 lb. chicken hearts

1/4 lb. chicken liver

2 Tbsp. plain yogurt

1 Tbsp. dried parsley

1 Tbsp. olive oil

Heat the oil in a pan and sauté the hearts and liver until cooked. Add to a food processor along with the yogurt and parley. Blend until smooth. Spoon into heart shaped silicone molds and freeze. Pop them out and defrost as a special treat for your dog. Too much liver can cause a runny stool, so feed in moderation. I give these treats a few times a week.
