New Jersey-based rock band The Gaslight Anthem have announced the release of their fifth LP entitled "Get Hurt" which is slated for August 19th, 2014 on Island Records. "Get Hurt" is the follow-up to their successfully charting major label debut, "Handwritten,' in 2012.

The band spent most of March in Nashville working on the record and have stated that it is a very different sound that demonstrates how the band is evolving [paraphrased]. Their sound has morphed and matured on each of their previous four full-length LP's from the hard-edged punk rock sound of "Sink or Swim" to the anthematic rock reminiscent of Tom Petty on "Handwritten."

The first two tracks to surface have backed up what front-man Brian Fallon has conveyed in recent interviews. They are continuing to evolve musically and continuing to experiment with new organic sounds. "Get Hurt" is available for pre-order on the band's website.

Check out two tracks from this highly-anticipated release below.

Rollin' and Tumblin' - The first official single from "Get Hurt" is radio friendly, up-tempo, and has that 'signature hook' that Brian Fallon is so good at writing. The band is currently in production of a music video for this track.

Get Hurt - It's definitely a different sound from The Gaslight Anthem, which they pull off with precision lyrically and musically. The Gaslight Anthem have never been known for slower-tempo tracks that include the entire band (most are just Fallon acoustic), but it looks as if this is an art they have now mastered.
