Hear the latest at Sacramento City Council meeting December 13th

The latest proposal to finance a new basketball arena in Sacramento is on the City Council agenda Tuesday night.  Please come to the City Council meeting December 13th at 6pm, Sacramento City Hall, 915 I Street.

What it amounts to is this: taking City/taxpayer money from parking revenues to pay for the arena. www.cityofsacramento.org/arena/pdfs/ESC_Update_Parking_Monetization.pdf.

How much time? How many resources? How much money? Has the City of Sacramento wasted on this matter? We voted down, as you recall, Measures Q & R which would have used taxpayer dollars to pay for the same arena. Voted!  Back to the drawing board.

Now, the City of Sacramento staff and Council are working on another plan to use (what?) city dollars to pay for the arena. Where's the public vote this time?  Since they've changed the name to Sacramento Entertainment & Sports Complex I suppose we don't get to vote. After all, it's no longer just an "arena."
