Looking for something fun to do this weekend with the kids? Do the kids need to get out of the house for some fresh air and exercise? Did you hear the three magic words, "Mom, I'm bored"?
Here are some ideas to get you out of the house and enjoy the great outdoors without spending your entire paycheck.
- Enjoy half off admission to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium through the end of February. Parking is $5 per vehicle.
- If your kids like maple syrup, then you must make a visit to the Slate Run Farm Metro Park. At 1:00 pm on Saturday February 25 and Sunday February 26, the farm will offer samples of syrup and show you how the syrup is made. Also learn how to identify trees that produce the best maple syrup.
- See the bison at Batelle Darby Creek Metro Park on Saturday February 25 at 10 am. Take this winter hike through the park and watch the buffalo roam. There is something majestic about watching these beautiful animals patiently graze amongst their herd members.
- Learn about owls on Saturday February 25 at 6pm at Clear Creek Metro Park.
- Visit the newest of the Metro Parks, Walnut Woods, on Sunday February 26 at 4pm for a hike in the tall pines.
Be sure to dress for the weather if you plan to participate in an outdoor hike.
