It may be helpful to do some research of the following food items that may be on your shopping list before your next trip to the market. Honey, olive oil, milk, orange juice, coffee, apple juice, tea, fish, and black pepper are among the list of the 11 most fraudulent foods according to an article written by Prevention.com.

The information below explains why a few on the listed food products are considered fraudulent.

1. Store bought Honey has been processed in such away that it loses its health benefits and is no longer considered real honey. It is best to avoid this imitation substance because the pollen has been removed and it is loaded with added chemicals and sugars. An alternative would be Raw honey. Raw honey has very little processing done to it before it is packaged and sent to health food stores and outlets.

A few of the grocery store brands listed by Food Safety News.com's study as to not containing pollen are as follows;

American Choice Clover Honey, Archer Farms Orange Blossom Honey, Archer Farms Organic Classic Honey,Busy Bee Organic Honey, Busy Bee, Pure Clover Honey, CVS Honey, Fred Meyer Clover Honey, Full Circle Pure Honey, and Giant Eagle Clover Honey. For a complete list click here

"More than three-fourths of the honey sold in U.S. grocery stores isn't exactly what the bees produce, according to testing done exclusively for Food Safety News. The results show that the pollen frequently has been filtered out of products labeled “honey.” The removal of these microscopic particles from deep within a flower would make the nectar flunk the quality standards set by most of the world’s food safety agencies." Another online source states, "Raw honey has better nutrition content than store bought honey. Additionally, testing performed by Food Safety News indicated that most honey found in stores does not contain any pollen; therefore, is not considered real honey. 2. Olive Oil is a product that has been reported by numerous online sources as the number one fraudulent product at the market. Several news stories have reported documented scientific studies have determined that some olive oils, even those labeled as extra-virgin kind are not pure. It is considered the most adulterated food source on the market; usually cut by hazelnut oil.

The website Life Hacker states the following information:

"The (Olive Oil) brands that failed to meet the extra virgin olive oil standards, according to this study: Bertolli, Carapelli, Colavita, Star, Pompeian. Eat Grown Local also reports: Filippo Berio, Mazzola, Mezzetta, Newman's Own, Safeway, and Whole Foods in this list; the data may be from the earlier 2010 study when more brands were evaluated.

3. Milk, okay you might wonder what in the heck could be wrong with cow's milk other than mucus. Well as it turns out grocery store milk is not pure Bovine Milk; it has been found to contain Sheep, buffalo, and goat-antelope's milk. The Milk at your grocers is also reported to be made impure by the addition of substandard ingredients.

The substandard ingredients added to store bought Milk include the following;

Reconstituted milk powder, urea, and rennet as well as with a product called “fake milk” which is a blend of skim milk powder,sugar, salt, oil, urea, detergent, an caustic soda.

Some alternative choices for Cows Milk are as follows;
