Healthy low carb foods every woman should eat

Healthy eating is good for males and females, but it is important to understand that men and women have different dietary needs. According to the Times of India on March 3, studies have shown that there are eight foods optimal for nutrition and health. Eating the right combination of foods can help battle diseases such as osteoporosis, cancer, depression, and arthritis. Low carbohydrate foods not only help with cancer and arthritis, they can also help with seizures and Alzheimer’s.

Tomatoes

Studies show that lycopene can aid in the prevention of breast cancer and reduce the risk of heart disease. Home grown or organic is best.

Flax Seed/ Flax Meal

Flax is an excellent source of Omega-3 which is known to reduce the risk of heart disease and breast cancer. Flax also has anti-inflammatory components that prevent arthritis and treat irritable bowel syndrome. Flax seed is usually cheaper by the pound an can easily be ground by using a coffee bean grinder.

Spinach

Spinach is full of vitamins and minerals. There is also another secret ingredient; magnesium which is known to help reduce symptoms of PMS.

Salmon

Salmon is full of iron; something that many women lack. It’s also packed full of Omega-3 which can be useful in treating depression.

Of the eight listed in the original article, oats, cranberries, milk, and walnuts were not listed here due to having a higher carb and sugar content. Work with your doctor to find the right healthy food carb balance for you.
