Healthy Halloween alternatives

Many Calgary parents do not look forward to the evening in October when their children run door-to-door for candy and sweets. While there are still many houses that will toss out cans of pop, chocolate bars and chips, you can help start a healthier alternative to Halloween in your neighborhood.

Halloween can be costly for families that stock up on an assortment of candy to hand out to local children. Being healthy can help break bad eating habits and may not put as large a dent in your bank account as you may first believe.

  • Fruit leather or real fruit snacks are great sweet snacks that will not fill children up with chemically created sugars.
