Good fried chicken does not always have to be fried in oil and unhealthy. Eating fried chicken out means its more then likely fried in oil, soaking up the grease, but cooking at home means you can control what goes into your food.
Recipe Notes: Chicken cuts (leg breast wing...etc) and amounts can vary depending on personal need, just adjust seasoning and bread crumbs. You can also use skinless pieces of chicken.
What You Will Need:
Chicken Mixed, legs, thighs, breasts, wings, with skin on.
3 TBS Chili Powder
1 TSP Cayenne Pepper
1 TSP White Pepper
2 TBS Paprika Powder
1 TBS Garlic Powder
1 TBS Onion Powder
2 TSP Salt
1/2 Cup Flour
2 Cups Panko Bread Crumbs
3 Eggs (egg wash)
Pre heat oven to 400 degrees.
In a bowl add the powders, peppers, salt, flour and bread crumbs together and mix to well incorporate.
In a separate bowl add the three eggs and beat lightly.
Take the chicken pieces and dip in egg wash and then dip in panko bread crumbs, coating thoroughly. Continue doing this until all the chicken is used up. Line a sheet tray with foil and place the chicken on the foil.
Put the tray into the oven for 30 minutes. Before removing from the oven check breasts and thighs temperature to make sure for doneness about 165.
Remove from oven, let cool 3 minutes and serve!
This dish is great served with spicy braised collard greens, corn, mashed potatoes or beans!
