President Obama addressed the issues and concerns of the Affordable Care Act in Boston, MA bringing clarity to Americans that quality and affordable healthcare is now accessible as a law. No longer can insurance companies or providers force U.S. citizens to purchase junk healthcare plans.
According to the American Hospital Association, $41.1 billion was the annual unpaid medical care or hospital bill from uninsured or under-insured Americans in 2011. That cost will drastically reduce in January 2014 when ACA/Obamacare becomes effective.
Critics argue that government intervention to establish access to affordable healthcare is a form of socialism, but the Preamble of the U.S. Constitution gives provision to the government to promote general welfare (well-being), provide common defense, justice and domestic tranquility.
The right to bear and keep arms (firearms, guns) is a Constitutional right by the Second Amendment to insure safety or defense for American citizens.
No critic can explain the difference of protecting oneself from a physical threat (with firearms) or a mental or medical threat (with healthcare) when either threat may cause injury or death to an American. There is no difference.
And since both are consumer based rights or laws created by the U.S. Congress, where is the logic of assigning socialism to ACA? There is no logic.
