Health care town hall or town hell? Arlen Specter protester condemns Specter and cronies to hell

Senator Arlen Specter is condemned to hell by a protester during a town hall meeting in Lebanon, Pennsylvania (video)

Sounding more like a scene from one of Jack Nicholson’s films than a town hall meeting on healthcare reform, Arlen Specter was in for some wild protests during his stop in Lebanon, Pennsylvania today. The video below was a demonstration of democracy in action, according to Senator Arlen Specter. The man, just one of many upset about the health care bill H.R. 3200 (read H.R. 3200 bill here), and healthcare reform referred to as ‘Obama Care’ was just one of the very upset attendees at today’s Pennsylvania town hall meeting.

The scene began today with Senator Arlen Specter stating, “And if you want to be let out of here, you're welcome to go.” Senator Specter’s voice begins to roar over the boisterous crowd, “Now, wait a minute. Now, wait a minute. Now, wait a minute. Now, wait a minute. Wait a minute.” The man, frustrated that he couldn’t speak answers, “I’m going to speak my mind before I leave because you’re people told me I could. I called your office and I was told I had the right to speak. Then I was lied to, because I came prepared to speak.” The man continues, until finally he states, “One day God is going to stand before you, and he's going to judge you and the rest of your damn cronies up on the Hill. And then you will get your just desserts. I'm leaving.”

To say the crowd in Lebanon, Pennsylvania was engaged in the health care reform debate is an understatement. The man in the video below was one of many who had been handed cards upon arrival at the town hall meeting. Those with cards were told they would be afforded the privilege of speaking and asking Senator Arlen Specter a question. After the meeting started, however, many found out that only those with numbered cards would be able to speak. The man in the video was one of those who did not receive a numbered card and was unable to ask his question. That is, until Senator Specter let him make his statement before the man left the town hall meeting.

The comment referring to Arlen Specter and his White House cronies being judged by God isn’t new. Those opposed to the health care plan have vilified Democrats by calling them ‘Demoncrats’ and some have referred to President Obama as being the anti-christ. Though many feel that the allegations of standing before God to be judged rests solely upon politicians that line their pockets with ‘filthy lucre’ there are others who truly believe that President Obama’s White House administration is not only turning the country into a socialized nation, but one that is turning its back upon the Christian faith of the founding fathers, and they are not without public backing and support in their opinion.

Abortion, euthanasia, and death panels are just a few of the allegations linking themselves to President Obama’s health care bill, charges that he adamantly denies. Rush Limbaugh linked President Obama's health care insignia to Nazi Germany, and Sarah Palin blogged on her Facebook account last Friday, giving fear to the belief that healthcare reform means entering a new era led by Hitler.  Many religious and anti aboriton activists believe that if health care reform is passed, according to what is seen now in H.R. 3200, it would mean the end of the pro-life movement and usher in government sponsored abortions and failure to provide medical treatment on premature babies.

The religious right has been against President Obama’s health care plan from the beginning, but now the combination of religion and politics that are dominating health care meetings are simply put, unprecedented.

Some Christian organizations that are against health care reform include:

The Minnesota Family Council

The Christian Coalition of America

Focus on the Family

The American Family Association

At Obama's town hall today, he was trying to assure us that the "government option" would save money and NOT drive out private insurers. To prove his hypothesis, he said UPS and FedEx were doing fine, but “it’s the post office that’s always having problems.”

    Ahahha Ahhahhah!!!

Trying to persuede that government can run a health program efficiently and cheaper and for proof brings up the USPS!

$3 to $6 BILLION deficit at the USPS and he wants us to believe he can run health insurance?!?!?!?

    WHAT A FRICKING JOKE.

Hey Obammie, Teleprompter....NEVER LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT!

Excuse me, free speech is GUARANTEED in the Bill of Rights. Arlen specter can't figure that out? He's not only a tyrant, he's a totally incompetent one. The man addressing Specter was well within his rights, and I support him entirely. Those on the left -and, um, Mr. Specter- clearly are out of step with those of us who actually believe in freedom. too bad for the leftists, because these town hall meetings are going to continue to leave egg on their elitist faces while I continue to laugh at those a-holes.

If we've learned anything these past eight years, it's that when the radical right-wing Limbaugh/Fox wackjobs scream and whine about something...that's PROOF POSITIVE it's good for America.

Obama is a national laughingstock - a complete JOKE. If he wasn't so good at LYING - it would be FUNNY, but unfortunately it's not! He contradicts himself at every turn - like a once infamous leader:

All this was inspired by the principle--which is quite true in itself--that in the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility; because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down... —Adolf Hitler

First of all, I want to mention that I am German and may see things from a different perspective.

When I heard about the negative campaigning against the US healthcare reform, I was really shocked. I think it's disgusting and ridiculous to compare Obama's healthcare plans with Hitler's politics. And I was even more shocked, that many Americans seem to believe in those kind of "arguments".

I don't live in the USA, but based on the information I have, I'm convinced that a reform of the US healthcare system is deeply needed. I somewhat understand bad associations that many American citizens have against anything that is controlled by the government - I think this kind of averseness is a result of the American history. But the Obama's plans for a new healthcare system cannot be associated with a big word like "socialism". And it definitely doesn't lead to such bad things like eugenics.

I was at the town hall meeting. The man who was yelling was NOT given a card. We didn't know until we arrived that the questioners would be preselected and no one else would be permitted to talk. Everyone at that meeting was more than a little ticked off. No one seems to be talking about the reason the man was so outraged. He called Specter's office and was told that everyone who made it inside would have the opportunity, at least, to ask questions. I got there at 7:30 for the 9:30 meeting, and was about the 220th person to get in, out of 250 allowed.
