AP Photo/Lynn Sladky   Health care rally in Miami August 7.

At a meeting in Des Moines, Senator Tom Harkin of Iowa, was interrupted several times by the estimated crowd of 200 shouting criticism and questions. Uniformed police were there, but no one was arrested.

According to one report, a man from the audience yelled: "This is not health reform, this is control, control over our lives."

Similar outbursts have occurred at town halls nationwide.

Hundreds of people also attended a meeting in Memphis hosted by Representative Steve Cohen. Although the discussion was scheduled to address constituents' concerns about Social Security and veterans' benefits, it quickly turned to health care.

Representative. Ed Perlmutter was at a grocery store in Colorado, on Saturday for informal chats with constituents. Some people protested the proposed health care overhaul and likened it to socialism.

The proposed healthcare "reform" is not reform – it is an unprecedented expansion of government power at the expense of the citizens' liberty, health, and very lives. Obamacare is designed to control every aspect of our lives and to justify further intrusions.

If we give up our liberty to Obama's thugs, we will perish as a civil society. Obama must be stopped at any cost or we will join the slaves of other communist countries.

The proposals call for cutting $500,000,000,000 from Medicare in order to pay for free healthcare for illegal aliens, sex change operations, and murdering babies. Abortion is already the leading cause of death in the United States. We do not need the government paying for even more murders.

How do you cut $500,000,000,000 from Medicare? Somebody is going to die! You have to kill a lot of old people and disabled citizens to cut $500,000,000,000.

God help us to be strong and wise.

Seriously? The gov't doesn't want abortions. Somebody has to pay all these taxes.

Just about to NOT justify prior psychotic outburst about "control". This is an exact summation of what the contrarian Republicans are being told to chant.
This control over our lives you're going on about? Wrong. The government wants us to have more control and choices. This is not Socialism. Do you understand why? It's preeeeety simple... Here's why: the money to fund medical healthcare would come from the government but the practitioners the participating parties would go to for health care are PRIVATE. Doctors and lawyers in business for themselves.
    That's not Socialism.
Also, people are going to have a choice to participate in this plan. It isn't force upon us.
Furthermore, do you really need to keep up with the lying thing? Seriously? "kill off a lot of old people"? That methodology is a perfect symbol of how little your kind has going for it and quite frankly scares the living crap out of me. Are you people deranged or just acting? Wow.

You are right, MHA, and millions of honest, hard working and patriotic Americans agree with you. Most of us never demonstrated before because we were too busy working, but we are now realizing our country is in danger. We are desperate to defend their country, our future and the future of our children and grandchildren from what we KNOW is a power grab under the guise of "health reform." We all would like to IMPROVE our health care system making it cheaper, more effective and available to more people, but Obamacare has NOTHING to do with improving our health care system. It's just another power grab that will further destroy our health care, our economy and our future, and impose Marxism through lies, manipulation, intimidation and coercion.

People who found refuge from socialism/communism in the U.S. now see with horror that Obama plans to turn the U.S. into another socialist/communist country like Cuba or Venezuela. Obama’s campaign strategy -- based on lies, manipulation, intimidation and fraud, with overwhelming support from a corrupt media -- was almost identical to the strategies of the Latin American Marxist thugs. Even his slogans (CHANGE and YES CAN) were the same.

And now we see that, just like Hugo Chavez and the rest of the Marxist thugs, Obama is destroying the economy and nationalizing everything, including our health care system. The Russians are gloating. From Pravda: The American descent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple…”

This administration, and it's minions in congress are so arrogant that they believe they can do anything, and force it down the throats of the American people. Pelosi hinted that the opposition was Nazi driven, the White House has created an enemy list of those publicly opposing his plans. I could say much about this, but I instead will let past, and present presidents say it for me.
Barack Obama - "A good compromise, a good piece of legislation, is like a good sentence; or a good piece of music. Everybody can recognize it. They say, 'Huh. It works. It makes sense."
Roosevelt, "To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public ."" When they call the roll in the Senate, the Senators do not know whether to answer "Present" or "Not guilty."
Madison-"Liberty may be endangered by the abuse of liberty, but also by the abuse of power

Fight the take over of health care, fight the cap and tax, fight the debt, fight the printing of trillions. We are being sold out to the Government Company store. The debt being created and placed on the back of the taxpayer is criminal. Moving the debt from Wall-Street, the auto-makers and the other failed businesses to the backs of taxpayers is unconstitutional.
The outrage being shown is just the tip of the iceberg over the ruination of our Country. Wake up and vote for change in 2010. Any Spendocrat that failed their constituents by rubber stamping these bills without reading them need to be shown the door.
Every State that has been controlled by a Democratic Legislator is now bankrupt. California, New Jersey, New York, Mass. What do they have in common? The largest welfare rolls, the largest populations of illegal aliens, the largest government unions. In California next year there is going to be hundreds of billions of dollars coming due to pay for government union retirement.

Attend a health care reform town hall meeting or related event and ask the Congress person or Senator to give a simple "YES" or "NO" response to a point of your choosing from this law firm summary point review of the current health "care" legislation. Here's how to access it:

Google: "liberty law health care overview" and click on the pdf

A simple "YES" or "NO" will do Congress person/Senator, nothing more! (No long winded evasive non answer responses!)

It is a sad commentary on our way of life that Republicans can change U.S. history by hiring thousands of loud bullies, armed with scripts, to disrupt meetings in order to influence the normal course of political events. They did it to stop the vote count in Florida in 2000, resulting in the right wing Supreme Court "appointing" to office the worst president in our history, over the man who actually won the election. Normal people are shocked and intimidated by the bullying, screaming tactics, and even weak-kneed politicians wither under their spell. This is not what America is all about. So Republican may very well earn a Pyrrhic victory, and when the smoke clears, we will all be faced with a destructive health care system that could very well do something the banks and Wall Streeters could not: bring down the economy. We can all "thank" the narrow-minded thinking of a Republican leadership that cares not for the American welfare. It only wants to bring the president down.

Hate has gone amuck.....The real issue isn't healthcare reform, it's hate, discontent and resistance to change. What bothers me the most is the fact that senior citizens are being exploited, pimped if you will, for a cause who's only interest is greed. Playing on the memories of how the US... use to be.
