Health Canada calling

Hydrolyzed vegetable protein (HVP), a commonly used flavour enhancer in many processed foods, is being investigated for Salmonella contamination. Foods that are known to contain affected HVP have been removed from store shelves.

Health Canada is asking consumers to check their cupboards and fridges. Health Canada is also advising those travelling to the United States to check the United States Food and Drug Administration website.
