People love music. And the best part is--there are medical reasons for it!

Robert Zatorre from the McGill University in Montreal researches the effects music has on the human body. His studies show that when people are exposed to the music they like their mood increases and their brain activity spikes. Music has a calming effect on the nervous system, triggers pleasure centers in the brain, and normalizes heart function.

The scientists claim that in the long run this effect can lead to strengthening of the vascular systemand result in prevention of heart disease. Other research shows that listening to classical music may be the most beneficial for our health, especially for small children and infants.

So, get your favorite record out and enjoy the health benefits of your favorite tunes!
