Most milk that is bought in the stores is not raw milk it has been tampered with, although there are a few places that sell raw milk. Mainstream milk has added chemicals and vitamins and in most cases unless it is organic it has antibiotics, steroids and growth hormones in it. How does all this get into the milk? The milk is taken from the body of the cow, the cows are shot up with these chemicals and medicines and that in turn is transferred to your milk as it is milked from the cow.
After leaving the farm it is sent to a factory where it is pasteurized, what that means is that it is cooked. What that does is kill any bad bacteria that may be present in the milk. It does not destroy the other stuff transferred from the cow to the milk such as the steroids given to the cow to make the cow bigger and to increase its milk output. Pasturization also destroys good bacteria that are normally present in the milk, some of these are known to science as probiotics.
You need these bacteria in the milk so that when you drink it you gain some sort of benefit from drinking the milk. Otherwise it is just being drunk for no reason other than taste, which by the way, the taste you know from regular store bought milk is not what raw milk tastes like. Raw milk can be bought from farmers but according to some states law, has to be bought on the farm only.
It can be delivered and picked up anyplace, but the actual business deal has to be sealed at the farm. A farmer in the Laclede county area of Missouri, which is near Springfield, sells his raw milk to customers who buy the milk because they know of the health benefits of raw milk. And they use it to make real butter. According to the news report the farmer sold some raw milk to a customer who in turn came to his local farmers market to pick it up.
The farmer had left his two daughters in charge of the market and two undercover agents posed as new customers at the market and asked if they had any “extra” raw milk for sell. The daughters, not thinking, sold the agents raw milk right there which is in violation of the law. A Greene county judge threw the case out against the farmer after saying that the charges are not against him but against his daughters.
After the agents tried to bring in the daughters, the judge told them that the statute of limitations was up and that they had no case. Now the farmer has to worry about another case for the same reason brought against him by Missouri Attorney General, Chris Koster. The city of Springfield's mayor was quick to say that the city is not against selling raw milk to people but that in the city the law has to be followed and there has to be a permit. If he is found guilty, Bechard could face a fine of up to $1,000.
It’s a shame that a simple small town farmer that is doing one of the best things in the world, and that is spreading good health, is the subject of a criminal lawsuit. If it were not for the judge throwing out the case the Attorney General probably would not have intervened. That just shows you that they are out to get the organic and natural farmers because they are hindering the spread of disease and sickness and lies by growing, distributing and eating healthy food. Big pharm and the US Govt. see that natural health, natural living, organic and green are words that it has to worry about now.
What are the benefits of raw milk bought from a local farmer? Few people are aware that clean, raw milk from grass-fed cows was actually used as a medicine in the early part of the last century. Clean raw milk from pastured cows is a complete and properly balanced food. You could live on it exclusively if you had to. Indeed, published accounts exist of people who have done just that. First thing is first, raw cow’s milk is usually always drinkable by those that are lactose intolerant.
Raw milk is loaded with good protein, something that most of us are lacking in our bodies these days thanks to the degeneration of our foods. Raw milk contains immunoglobulins, an extremely complex class of milk proteins also known as anti-bodies. They provide resistance too many viruses, bacteria and bacterial toxins and may help reduce the severity of asthma symptoms. Raw milk contains lactic acid. Lactic acid boosts the absorption of calcium, phosphorus and iron in your body.
Raw milk contains fat that your body needs; you also need this for your digestion system to work properly. Did you know that fat free homogenized milk lacks the hormone that your stomach needs to tell you when you are full? That’s right, drinking fat free store bought milk can actually contribute to obesity. Raw milk contains this hormone in the fat that is in the milk. Did you know that babies that cannot drink regular milk can drink raw cow’s milk?
And did you know that babies that are colic are so because of the formula they are drinking. Babies that are colic and allergic to baby formulas can usually drink raw cow’s milk too. CLA, short for conjugated linoleic acid and abundant in milk from grass-fed cows, is a heavily studied, polyunsaturated Omega-6 fatty acid with promising health benefits. Grass fed cows has 3-5 times the amount found in cows fed from a feed lot. What is so important about CLA's?
The potential benefits: it raises metabolic rate, helps remove abdominal fat, boosts muscle growth, reduces resistance to insulin, strengthens the immune system and lowers food allergy reactions. Now how many of us could use more CLA’s in our diet? The vitamin content in raw milk is untouched, nothing needs to be added to raw milk to make it good for you, in store bought milk without adding all the vitamins and minerals you would have nothing but a chemical drink that would probably kill you, raw milk is a complete food.
Since raw milk is so easy for our bodies to digest it takes the load off of the pancreas and other organs involved in the digestive process. The beneficial good bacterium that is found in raw milk is like taking a huge dose of vitamins and getting instantly well. Probiotics are what most of the world is lacking in their stomachs, so much that we have to take supplements such as the popular Acidophilus just to combat heart burn, digestion and acid reflux. You heard right, acid reflux is contributed to by the diet we are on.
The foods we eat are deficient of the good bacteria, vitamins and minerals we need to function properly. It’s not “normal” to have acid reflux and heart burn. It’s just that today’s society has accepted it and therefore knows no better or different way of living. Raw milk therefore provides a necessary ingredient to our digestive systems. With all the controversy swimming around raw milk being bad for you and fattening and just over all not a good thing don’t you think that it is time to put these rumors to rest? Do your homework to be immune to lies and rumors about raw milk.
In today’s society what we need is on the farms and that does not mean on the big corporate farms where they are growing disease and malnutrition in the hopes of making a few extra dollars. We are talking your small town local farmers and farms and if at all possible in your own back yards. In fact isn’t it time to make a change in you and your family’s life that is sustainable for our uncertain future? Its time America to start buying your own land and cows and chickens, it’s time to start raising and growing your own food.

Hmm...sounds a lot like the debate on whether human breastmilk or formula is better for babies! Of course we all know the answer but naysayers still believe it's "dirty" and your baby won't get enough nutrition and it won't fill him up enough blah blah blah. Other than hearing how incredible raw milk tastes from someone who grew up on a farm, I never knew it had all these amazing health benefits.
Hello Jen, thanks for the comment, I bet there are more people in the world today that don't know the health benefits of raw milk than there is those that do. Sad as it is that is todays world. People do not know about natural living and natural health and so this is why I do what I do. Someone has to teach this! :-)
