If you like Lean Cuisine ravioli, beware. The Food and Drug Administration announced today that packages of Lean Cuisine Culinary Collection Mushroom Mezzaluna Ravioli are being recalled because they may contain fragments of glass.
The Lean Cuisine dish, made by Nestlé, applies only to packages with the production codes 2311587812 or 2312587812 with a "best before by" date of December 2013, the FDA said.
The recalled packages were made in November 2012, and Nestlé voluntarily issued the recall after three customers reported they had found glass in the ravioli. No injuries were reported by the customers, according to the FDA.
"We apologize to our retail customers and consumers and sincerely regret any inconvenience created by this voluntary product recall," said Nestlé in a press release.
The company is telling customers not to eat the recalled meals, but to instead contact Nestlé customer service at (866) 586-9424 or leancuisine@casupport.com, as customers reporting they have the product will be reimbursed by Nestlé with a replacement coupon.
