The next stop on the 2014 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series schedule is “Thunder Valley,” Bristol Dragway in Tennessee, for the Ford NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals, Friday through Sunday, June 13th through 15th. The event will feature three of the series’ top categories – Top Fuel, Funny Car and Pro Stock – along with the NHRA Pro Mod Series, the Nitro Harley Series and the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series.
On Friday, June 13th, pro qualifying sessions take place at 5 and 7:30 p.m. ET. On Saturday, June 14th, pro qualifying continues at 12:30 and 3 p.m. ET. On Sunday, June 15th, the day begins with a track walk in honor of Father’s Day, complete with donuts from Krispy Kreme, at 10:45 a.m. ET; the track walk is free to all fans with a Sunday race ticket. Final eliminations kick off at noon ET.
On Saturday, 30 minutes after the final pro qualifying rounds, Thunder Valley Fan Fest in Nitro Alley will feature more than two dozen of the NHRA’s top drivers for an autograph session. Drivers currently scheduled to appear include Shawn Langdon, Dave Connolly, Allen Johnson, Erica Enders-Stevens, Clay Millican, Jack Beckman, Matt Hagan, JR Todd and Greg Anderson – find the complete list under the “activities” tab.
Tickets are still available for the Ford NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals – Friday passes are $35 and $40 for adults, while Saturday passes are $50 and 460. Sunday passes range in price from $25 to $60; all kids are admitted free on Sunday (limit two kids tickets per adult ticket purchased).
