The Verizon IndyCar Series returns to the Milwaukee Mile this weekend, Friday through Sunday, August 15th through 17th, for the 2014 Milwaukee IndyFest. Joining the IndyCar Series are the Indy Lights and the Pro Mazda Championship Series.
The off-track festivities begin Thursday, August 14th with the Bartender Challenge at Miller Time Pub at the Hilton Milwaukee City Center, 509 W. Wisconsin St., from 5 to 6 p.m. CT. Drivers Josef Newgarden and Justin Wilson will be participating , as will National Volleyball League star Molly Menard. Also on Thursday at 5 p.m. CT, the Harley Davidson Museum at 400 W. Canal St. will host IndyFest Bike Night.
On Friday, August 15th from 5 to 10 p.m. CT, the Rock the Block Street Party will take place at the Hilton, featuring live music, driver appearances, a pit stop challenge, food and beverages and much more.
On Friday, gates open at 9 a.m. CT with free admission to the grandstands. Testing for the Pro Mazda and Indy Lights series takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT.
Gates open Saturday at 7:30 a.m. CT, with practice sessions for all three series beginning at 8:15 a.m. CT. Pro Mazda qualifying begins at 2:45 p.m. CT, followed by Indy Lights qualifying at 4:05 p.m. CT and IndyCar qualifying at 5 p.m. CT. The 100-lap Pro Mazda feature goes green at 6:30 p.m. CT.
On Sunday, gates open at 7:30 a.m. CT, with the Indy Lights 100-lap feature going green at noon CT, followed by the IndyCar Series ABC Supply Co. Inc. Wisconsin 250 at 2:45 p.m. CT.
Tickets are still available for the Milwaukee IndyFest – Sunday reserved grandstand tickets range in price from $29 to $79, and general admission tickets are $25 for Sunday’s activities. Get tickets and more information about the race at www.milwaukeeindyfest.com.
