The Verizon IndyCar Series heads to Sonoma Raceway in California this weekend, Friday through Sunday, August 22nd through 24th for the GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma. Also on the schedule this weekend: Cooper USF2000 Championship, Pro Mazda Championship, Indy Lights and the Pirelli World Challenge Series.
Friday’s on-track action begins with USF2000 practice at 8:15 a.m. PT, followed by Pro Mazda (9 a.m. PT), Indy Lights (9:45 a.m. PT) and Pirelli World Challenge (10:45 a.m. PT). Qualifying for USF2000, Pro Mazda and Indy Lights kicks off at 11:45 a.m. PT, followed by a second practice session for Pirelli World Challenge (2:15 p.m. PT). USF2000 and Pro Mazda go green for their first races of the weekend at 3:20 and 4:20 p.m. PT, respectively.
On Saturday, Pirelli World Challenge qualifies at 8:55 a.m. PT, followed by IndyCar Series practice at 10 a.m. PT. The second USF200 race of the weekend goes green at 11:05 a.m. PT, followed by the first Indy Lights race at 12:15 p.m. PT. A second IndyCar practice session is on track at 1:15 p.m. PT., followed by the first Pirelli World Challenge race at 2:35 p.m. PT and the second Pro Mazda race at 3:40 p.m. PT. IndyCar qualifying concludes on track action at 4:35 p.m. PT.
On Sunday, the second Indy Lights race goes green at 11 a.m. PT, followed by the GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma at 1:40 p.m. PT. The second Pirelli World Challenge race completes the weekend schedule at 4:40 p.m. PT.
Friday tickets are just $15 (general admission), while tickets for Saturday’s action are just $35 (general admission); general admission tickets for Sunday’s GoPro Indy Grand Prix are $39, with reserved seats ranging between $55 and $75. Three-day passes, garage passes and more are also available at www.racesonoma.com.
