Heading to Pomona to kick off the 2013 NHRA season? Check this out

The 2013 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season kicks off this weekend, Thursday through Sunday, February 14th through 17th at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona in California, with the 53rd running of the O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Winternationals presented by Super Start Batteries.

Continuing its Nitro Generation celebration from 2012, the NHRA continues its “every ticket is a pit pass” promotion, allowing fans the opportunity to interact with their favorite drivers. A perk for those attending eliminations on Sunday, February 17th: the popular Championship Sunday Track Walk returns, free to all Sunday ticket holders. Fans can also check out the interactive NHRA Nitro Alley and the NHRA Manufacturers Midway as well as the popular Hot Rod Junction presented by the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum featuring many nostalgic dragsters, race cars and hot rods on display.

On Thursday, February 14th, fans can kick off the 2013 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season in the pro pits by attending a special Nitro Pit Party and Press Conference prior to the season’s first qualifying session at 11 a.m. PT. Among the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series drivers in attendance will be 2012 NHRA champs Antron Brown (Top Fuel), Jack Beckman (Funny Car) and Allen Johnson (Pro Stock), along with top drivers Courtney, Brittany and John Force, Ron Capps, Tony Schumacher, and Del Worsham.

Tickets are still available for the Winternationals – four-day Top Eliminator Club passes are $340, while four-day general admission passes are $130. Two-day passes (Saturday and Sunday) and daily passes are also available. Click here to get more information and to purchase tickets.
