The second race of the Verizon IndyCar Series season takes place this weekend, Friday through Sunday, April 11th through 13th, in Long Beach, California. The Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach weekend will also feature the Indy Lights presented by Cooper Tires, the Motegi Racing Super Drift Challenge, the Pirelli World Challenge and the Tequila Patron Sports Car Showcase featuring the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship, plus the annual Pro/Celebrity Race and the SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks.
Gates will open all three days at 7 a.m. PT. Friday will include practice for the IndyCars, the Indy Lights, the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship, the Pirelli World Challenge, the Pro/Celebrity Race and Super Drift Challenge , plus qualifying for the Pro/Celebrity Race, TUDOR Championship and Super Drift Challenge. Friday evening at 6:45 p.m. PT will be the Fiesta Friday concert with Kinky.
Saturday action includes practice for the IndyCar Series, the Indy Lights and the Pirelli World Challenge, qualifying for the IndyCar Series and the Pirelli World Challenge, the Pro/Celebrity Race (noon PT), the TUDOR Championship race (3:05 p.m. PT), and the Super Drift Challenge finals (7 p.m. PT). At 6:45 p.m. PT, Paul Rodgers of Bad Company hits the stage for the Rock-N-Roar concert.
Sunday will start with Super Truck practice and qualifying, followed by the Indy Lights race (10:15 a.m. PT) and the Super Truck race (noon PT). The IndyCar Grand Prix of Long Beach goes green at 1:50 p.m. PT, followed by a Formula DRIFT demonstration (3:55 p.m. PT) and the Pirelli World Challenge race (4:30 p.m. PT).
