There’s plenty of action on the schedule this weekend, Friday through Sunday, October 4th through 6th in Houston, Texas, home of the Shell and Pennzoil Grand Prix of Houston for the IZOD IndyCar Series. The “three-day festival of speed” at Reliant Park will feature 12 races, including the final double-header of the IndyCar Series’ season.
The “H-Town Doubles Down” will headline the Grand Prix of Houston on Saturday and Sunday. The weekend also includes five sports car races – three from the Pirelli World Challenge Championships and one each from the Playboy Mazda MX-5 and Champions Race for Charity. All three IndyCar feeder series will also be in action – the Cooper Tires USF2000 Powered by Mazda, the Pro Maxda Championship presented by Cooper Tires and the Firestone Indy Lights Series.
Off the track, there’s plenty going on as well. Bring the kids to the Fiesta Family Fun Zone and check out go-kart racing from MSR Houston. There will also be live music throughout the weekend, highlighted by Friday night’s performance by Creedence Clearwater Revisited at 8 p.m. CT – anyone with a Friday ticket can stick around for the concert.
