The Verizon IndyCar Series becomes the first major racing series to crown its champion at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California, site of the MAVTV 500 IndyCar World Championships on Saturday, August 30th.
On Wednesday, August 27th, Auto Club Speedway will host an IndyCar Series open test from 4:30 to 10:30 p.m. PT – viewing area will be the infield terrace rooftops overlooking pit road. Admission is free to MAVTV 500 ticket holders, or a $10 donation to the Auto Club Speedway Foundation benefitting local schools.
On Friday, August 29th, the IndyCars practice at 10 a.m. PT before qualifying at 2:15 p.m. PT. Another practice session takes place at 6:15 p.m. PT. On Saturday, August 30th, there is an all-driver IndyCar autograph session at 4 p.m. PT in the IndyCar Fan Village, followed by Will Power’s induction onto the Walk of Fame at 5 p.m. PT. The MAVTV 500 IndyCar World Championship Race goes green at 7:20 p.m. PT.
Throughout the weekend, there will be a showcase of historic ChampCars and IndyCars in victory lane – these showcases take place Friday at 3:45 and 5:30 p.m. PT and Saturday at 5:40 p.m. PT.
On Saturday, there will be two exhibitions featuring Metal Mulisha Freestyle MotoX – these exhibitions take place at 4:45 and 6 p.m. PT.
Tickets are still available for the final IndyCar weekend of the season – tickets for Friday are $20, while tickets for Saturday’s racing action start at $30. Get more information on the weekend and purchase tickets at www.autoclubspeedway.com.
