The second race in the 2013 NHRA Countdown to the Championship is at Texas Motorplex in Ennis, Texas (near Dallas), home of the AAA Texas NHRA Fall Nationals, taking place Thursday through Sunday, September 19th through 22nd. The 20th event on the 2013 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series schedule features all four of the Mello Yello Series’ categories – Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle – as well as the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series.
Anyone attending Sunday’s elimination rounds can participate in the Track Walk at 9:30 a.m. CT – your chance to walk on the track surface with the stars of the NHRA. Line-up for the Track Walk begins at 9:15 a.m. CT.
Sportsman qualifying kicks off the on-track activities on Thursday, with action from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. CT. Sportsman action continues on Friday at 8:30 a.m. CT, followed by pro qualifying for the four Mello Yello categories at 2:15 and 5:15 p.m. CT. Sportsman eliminations get underway Saturday morning at 8 a.m. CT, with two more rounds of pro qualifying at 11:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. CT. Eliminations for the Mello Yello categories begin Sunday morning at 11 a.m. CT.
Tickets are still available for the AAA Texas NHRA Fall Nationals – full event packages start at $225 for adults, and weekend passes (Saturday and Sunday only) start at $195 for adults. Passes for Thursday’s action are $10, and Friday passes start at $15; Saturday and Sunday tickets start at $20. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit texasmotorplex.com.
