Heading to Chicago for the 2014 Route 66 NHRA Nationals? Check this out

The 12th race on the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series schedule is the O’Reilly Auto Parts Route 66 NHRA Nationals presented by Super Start Batteries at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Illinois, coming up Thursday through Sunday, June 26th through 29th. The Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series is also on the race card at Route 66 Raceway, which is the sister track to NASCAR’s Chicagoland Speedway.

Fans at Route 66 Raceway get two nights of qualifying on Friday and Saturday, with sessions on Friday at 4:30 and 7:15 p.m. CT and Saturday at 4:15 and 7:15 p.m. CT. Eliminations get underway Sunday at 11 a.m. CT. For the Lucas Oil Series, qualifying gets underway on Thursday, with eliminations taking place Friday and Saturday. The series also runs the annual JEGS All-Stars bonus race for qualified competitors on Saturday.

Tickets are still available for the Route 66 NHRA Nationals – Thursday tickets are $15 (general admission), while Friday tickets are $46 (general admission) and $56 (reserved); Saturday tickets are $55 (general admission) and $65 (reserved), and tickets for Sunday’s elimination rounds are $69 (reserved) and $59 (general admission). Full weekend tickets are available for $135 (general admission) and $170 (reserved), but must be purchased in advance.
