It’s Bristol, baby – and it’s home to NASCAR’s Sprint Cup Series’ fourth race of the 2013 season. The Food City 500 weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee takes place Thursday through Sunday, March 14th through 17th and also features the Nationwide Series and the K&N Pro Series East.
Fans can check out Food City Race Night on Friday, March 15th from 4 to 9 p.m. ET in the Hospitality Area. Drivers expected to take part in the free event include Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kevin Harvick, Danica Patrick, Matt Kenseth, Greg Biffle, Joey Logano, Clint Bowyer, Austin and Ty Dillon, Kasey Kahne, Trevor Bayne, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Justin Allgaier, Brian Vickers and Brian Scott. They’ll be taking part in autograph sessions, question-and-answer sessions, a Wii boxing tournament and a game show. There will also be show cars, simulators, souvenir trailers, live entertainment and food sampling while supplies last.
Admission on Thursday for K&N Series practice and qualifying is showing your Saturday or Sunday race ticket. On Friday, gates open at 10:30 a.m. ET, with practices for both Cup and Nationwide Series starting at the same time; Cup Series pole qualifying begins at 3:40 p.m. ET. Gates open at 9 a.m. ET on Saturday, with Cup Series practice at that time, followed by Nationwide Series qualifying at 10:35 a.m. ET; following the final Cup Series practice at noon ET, the Jeff Foxworthy’s Grit Chips 300 Nationwide Series race goes green at 2 p.m. ET, followed by the K&N Pro Series East’s 125-lap event at 4:45 p.m. ET. Sunday’s Cup Series Food City 500 takes the green flag at 1 p.m. ET after an 11 a.m. ET concert by the Charlie Daniels Band; gates open at 9 a.m. ET.
