The NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series returns to Brainerd International Raceway in Minnesota this weekend, Thursday through Sunday, August 14th through 17th, for the 33rd annual Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals. Brainerd International Raceway is one of the most popular venues on the circuit thanks to the area’s fishing and other outdoor recreational activities.
The Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals is the next-to-last event before the Countdown to the Championship begins and features three of the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series’ top divisions: Top Fuel, Funny Car, and Pro Stock.
On-track action gets underway Thursday with Sportsman qualifying throughout the day beginning at 9:30 a.m. CT and Comp Eliminator qualifying at 4 p.m. CT. Friday action includes Sportsman, Comp Eliminator and Alcohol qualifying sessions beginning at 9:15 a.m. CT, as well as the first two qualifying sessions for the Pro Stock and Nitro classes beginning at 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. CT.
Saturday features Sportsman eliminations beginning at 9:15 a.m. CT, as well as Comp Eliminator eliminations and Top Alcohol qualifying and eliminations; the two final rounds of Pro Stock and Nitro qualifying at 1 and 3:30 p.m. CT. Final eliminations for all classes get underway Sunday at 11 a.m. CT.
