Heading to Atlanta for 2014 NASCAR action? Check this out

NASCAR’s Labor Day weekend party is at Georgia’s Atlanta Motor Speedway, where the Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series hit the track for the Oral-B USA 500 and the Great Clips 300 to benefit Feed the Children, August 29th through 31st.

On Thursday, August 28th, “Awesome Bill from Dawsonville,” Bill Elliott, will be inducted into “Speed Lane” in downtown Hampton, Georgia at 6 p.m. ET. Following the induction, the Sprint Cup Series Hauler Parade runs through downtown Hampton on the way to Atlanta Motor Speedway beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET.

On Friday, August 29th, fans get a chance to ask Sprint Cup stars Carl Edwards, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Kyle Larson questions on the frontstretch at 8:15 p.m. ET as part of Wind Creek Casino and Hotel Wetumpka Qualifying Night. Following the Q-and-A, the USCS Sprint Car will race on the quarter-mile track at Atlanta.

Friday’s on-track schedule begins with USCS Sprint Car practice at 11 a.m. ET, followed by Sprint Cup practice at 2:30 p.m. ET and Nationwide Series practices at 4 and 5:30 p.m. ET. Cup qualifying gets underway at 7:10 p.m. ET, followed by the driver Q-and-A at 8:15 ET and the USCS Sprint Car Shootout at 9:15 p.m. ET.

On Saturday, Legends and Bandoleros races take place from 1 to 2:30 p.m. ET, followed by Cup Series practice at 3 p.m. ET and Nationwide qualifying at 4:10 p.m. ET; the final Cup Series practice for the weekend takes place at 6 p.m. ET, followed by the Great Clips 300 at 7:30 p.m. ET. The Oral-B USA 500 Sprint Cup Series race goes green on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. ET. Find the complete weekend schedule, including driver appearances, here.
