It’s time for the 2012 NASCAR season to take the track, and as usual, the season starts off at Daytona International Speedway. 2012 Speedweeks at Daytona get underway on Thursday, February 16th with the ARCA Racing Series taking to the track for practice, and end on Sunday, February 26th with the 54th running of the Daytona 500.
The following is the current schedule of events for February 16th through 19th at the track:
Thursday, February 16th –
- 11 a.m. ET – Sprint FANZONE opens
- 1 p.m. ET – Gates open
- 1 to 5 p.m. ET – ARCA practice
Friday, February 17th –
- 9 a.m. ET – Sprint FANZONE opens
- 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET – Sprint FANZONE Guided Garage tours (must be 18 or older)
- 2 p.m. ET – Gates open, ARCA qualifying
- 5 to 5:45 and 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. ET – Budweiser Shootout practice sessions
- 8 p.m. ET – Bud Shootout Draw Party at the SPEED Stage outside Turn Four tunnel
Saturday, February 18th –
- 9 a.m. ET – Sprint FANZONE opens
- 10 a.m. ET – Gates open, ARCA final practice
- 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 3:45 p.m. ET – Cup practice
- 12:30 to 2 p.m. ET – ARCA autograph session in garage area
- 4:40 p.m. ET – ARCA Racing Series Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200
- 8:29 p.m. ET – Budweiser Shootout
Sunday, February 19th –
- 7 a.m. ET – Sprint FANZONE opens
- Noon ET – Gates open
- 1:05 p.m. ET – Daytona 500 qualifying
