Many of us have seen this complex as we drive south on Interstate 75 through the rolling hills of Kentucky to Tennessee and beyond: Renfro Valley, Kentucky. Dubbed "Kentucky's Country Music Capital”, it’s a fun-filled 55 acre destination complex. Music traditions started here in 1939 by founder John Lair. Classic country, southern gospel and mountain bluegrass music fills their two show theaters March through December of each year. This year marks their 75th anniversary season and they have entertained thousands along the way!

Every year numerous concerts and events are held drawing visitors from all parts of the United States. Performers lined up for this year include: Ronnie Milsap, Dustin Lynch, The Oak Ridge Boys and Loretta Lynn.

July 3-5 brings the Old Joe Clark Bluegrass Festival featuring performances by: The Moron Brothers, Chris Jones and The Night Drivers, Ronnie Reno and The Reno Tradition, Velvet Blue, Larry Cordle and Lonesome Standard Time, Lonesome River Band and more.

July 6 is “The Blast in the Valley”. The annual Independence Day celebration is held in the Festival Field. Food, games, shopping, live music (of course) and a stunning fireworks display.

More to do: Renfro Valley's quaint shopping village offers up unique gifts and handmade crafts. Stores such as Candy Land and the Gristmill can cure your sweet tooth, the Country Music Store can fill those voids in your CD collection and Blings ‘N Things can fill the void in your purse collection. Friendly staffers are eager to help you find that perfect purchase. The Historic Lodge Restaurant serves up Renfro Valley's famous fried chicken and homemade southern specialties using locally grown produce, vegetables and spices. If you're looking for a brief experience-you may want to check out the Renfro Valley Malt Shop 50's Show on Thursdays and top it off with a burger and milkshake at JJ's 50's Diner- just across from the theater.

The award winning Renfro Valley RV Park was just awarded the Four W Rating from the Woodall's Club and offers all the modern conveniences found in most hotels rooms along with 24 hour security. Several hotels and Kentucky State Park lodging are also available nearby.

Many talented entertainers grace the stages of the famous Old Barn and New Barn Theater year round. Check in advance for show times and make Renfro Valley a destination on your next trip south.
