The eighth event on the 2014 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series schedule is the 26th annual NHRA Kansas Nationals, taking place Memorial Day weekend, Friday through Sunday, May 23rd through 25th, at Heartland Park Topeka. Three of the NHRA’s top categories – Top Fuel, Funny Car and Pro Stock – will take to the track, as will the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series.
“We used to race in Topeka on Memorial Day and I am very excited to be going back on that date,” said Funny Car points leader Robert Hight. “We will get a lot of fans that camp out for the event, so it will have an atmosphere like Brainerd. This race facility and racing surface are top notch and the fans are great.”
Pro qualifying sessions begin Friday, May 23rd at 4:30 and 7 p.m. CT, continuing Saturday, May 24th at 1:30 and 4 p.m. CT. Eliminations begin Sunday, May 25th at 11 a.m. CT.
Tickets are still available for the NHRA Kansas Nationals – three-day general admission passes are $120 at the gate, with three-day reserved passes starting at $143 at the gate; individual session passes are also available, starting at $40 for Friday and $48 for Saturday and Sunday action (discount available for tickets purchased in advance). Get tickets and more information on the track and the event at hpt.com.
