Lowes Cruisers sponsored the second "Real Man's Yard Sale" of the year in the Lowes' parking lot, Abingdon, Maryland, on October 26, 2013. The event drew hundreds of men, women and even youngsters perusing more than one-hundred vendor stations.
What may at first seem like a sexist title for a yard sale, turned out to be more of a descriptive advertising slogan. Promotions for the sale stressed that the items to be offered were what men and women, interested in cars and motorcycles, would be interested. It was not for Beanie Babies, baby clothes, or household items.
Anything automotive, to include fenders, headers, hubcaps and tires were on sale. Bicycles, motorcycles, bikes, fishing and hunting gear, and even antiques, signs and tools were on sale. There were also a number of classic cars for sale. The well organized sale included not only the large turnout of sellers, buyers and curious lookers, but also offered food trailers with pit beef and accompanying music from a live DJ.
With the success of this sale look for it to return in the spring of 2014 at the Lowes' rear parking lot at 414 Constant Friendship Blvd, Abingdon, MD. Lowes Cruisers will continue their cruise nights into November on Fridays 4 to 10 pm. They traditionally hold a Toys for Tots event in November and are planning one for this month.
