Back in the 1980's when MTV was relevant and played music videos hard rock fans tuned in during Saturday night to watch a show called Headbangers Ball. What better name for a hard rock tribute band. It's members include Johnny Dee from Britny Fox, Virus from Dope and Nick Douglas from Doro's band. Suffice it to say, these guys live through that time period and know all the music. Drummer Johnny Dee currently plays with Doro.

Most crappy cover bands will play "Crazy Train" and "You Shook Me All Nite Long' and think they are great. Truth be told, people are sick of those songs and walk out when they are played, unless they are too drunk to care. Drummer Johnny Dee knows this. "We play stuff from the 80's era,it could go back or forwards a few years", he said. "This is sort of the conundrum of cover and tribute bands,if you do deep cuts, it's pretty tricky to get people out.,but no, we're not doing "Crazy Train" but we are doing songs that are a bit off the beaten path ", Dee said.

These ares songs you should all know. In fact, you can go to the bands Facebook. page and help them choose the set list. "We're having trouble figuring out which songs to play so we need your help",laughed Dee during a recent interview. With Dee on drums, Joe Taylor also on second guitar, they were able to snatch a red hot female singer, Jane Train, from the cover band M-80.They are from the Wilkes Barre area. The name M-80 is just as cool as Headbangers Ball.

The show is this Friday night and tickets are $16.00 at the door. If you have any interest in meeting the band, Dee said "We will be around all night, but at 7:30 as the doors open we have a free meet and greet,so bring your camera if you want a photo", Dee said.

Sorry, this show is restricted to those 21 and over. "The date came up kind a quick,it's not small but it's a gamble, we got the room at a sort of last minute thing, we have been playing in the Poconos and people were asking us to bring it down to Philly, we're hoping people will take a chance with us". Dee said.

There are three other bands with Headbangers Ball. 609.Travia and Natt Attack. That band has some former members of 80's metal band Teeze. "I'm looking forward to this", Dee said.
