Teatown Lake Reservation is a nonprofit, environmental organization with an 875-acre nature preserve and education center located in the Lower Hudson Valley. Their mission is to conserve open space and to educate and involve the regional community in order to sustain the diversity of wildlife, plants and habitats for future generations.
Teatown invites everyone to attend “All Welcome” programs, regardless of age of participant (except where noted). In other words, All Welcome programs are geared for children, adults, and families to enjoy!
The next two upcoming All Welcome programs are taking place on Saturday February 23 and Saturday March 2.
Saturday, February 23: Whooo’s on their Nest?
Great-horned owls are the first birds to raise their families, often sitting on their eggs in January. Come to hear the story of a baby owl’s rescue, and meet one of Teatown’s great-horned owls.
Time: 2:00pm-3:00pm
Fee: $5 for non-members (Teatown members are free)
Saturday March 2: Red-tailed Hawks
Red-tailed hawks are one of the most adaptable raptors. Learn some of the amazing ways that these incredible hunters survive around humans, even in some rather unlikely circumstances. Come to hear the story of Pale Male, and meet one of Teatown’s red-tailed hawks.
Time: 10am-11:30am
Fee: $5 for non-members (Teatown members are free)
Please pre-register for either event by calling Teatown at (914) 762-2912, ext. 110, any time between 9am and 5pm, Tuesday through Sunday. All events and programs must be paid for at the time of booking, either via credit card over the phone or in person with cash or check. Both programs will take place in the Nature Center. Please note that no refunds will be granted less than two weeks prior to the event or program date. People withdrawing prior to this deadline will receive a 75% refund (25% charged for administrative costs).
