The head of the Des Moines regatta this past weekend held plenty of exciting rowing action. The course is around 5 kilometers, the typical length of a regatta, and brought rowers together from all around the area including Minnesota.

A few teams to compete from Minnesota were St. Thomas, University of Minnesota Men's Crew, Minnesota Boat Club, and Minneapolis Rowing Club. The teams provided quite a lot of fight which will help in the long run.

This years regatta did not have mother nature playing a factor against it. Last year's regatta had drizzling rain and horrible cold gusts making the rowing not only miserable but impossible. The regatta had to be cut short, though this year everything went according to plan.
