"He Saved Us!”(Titus 3:5)

“He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,”(Titus 3:5)

It is because of God’s grace that believers in Christ Jesus are being saved. There is not one righteous thing to be said or done by believers that can save them. It is all God. Praise Him! He shows mercy to everyone that believes. Mercy is not getting what is deserved. Every person deserves death because of sin. But God gives the opportunity to be made right and free from sin’s consequences. Jesus offers the opportunity of salvation to the world.

The Holy Spirit has a role and is essential in a believer’s salvation. The Holy Spirit regenerates from spiritual decay to life in Christ. He helps in renewing the mind and thought life. He facilitates the rebirth into the new creation in Jesus. Newness of life is imputed by the Holy Spirit living in a believer. The old sin nature is to die and the new life resurrected.

Challenge: Believer, look at how God is saving you and how the Holy Spirit lives in you! You have received a rebirth and renewal!
