No man has ever seen God at any time; the only unique Son, or the only begotten God, Who is in the bosom [in the intimate presence] of the Father, He has declared Him [He has revealed Him and brought Him out where He can be seen; He has interpreted Him and He has made Him known]. [Prov. 8:30.] (John 1:18 AMP)
...and I was daily His delight, rejoicing before Him always, [Matt. 3:17; John 1:2, 18.] (Proverbs 8:30 AMP)
God is a Spirit whose nature is so pure that the light He clothes Himself in is bright enough to wipe us out if we were to see Him. The only one who would live through it is God's Son, the pure one also. God's Son doesn't just put up with God and His purity but He knows God inside and out, thoroughly and sweetly. He lived with His Father before the world began, just rejoicing and enjoying creating and being God's Son.
Jesus, God's Son came to Earth as a baby to tell us about the God He knows so tenderly. He showed us God without the clothing of Light but with His purity. He interpreted Him to us, listening to God and then speaking Him compassionately in our language which is fearful, troubled and some times angry or sad. Jesus took out of the pocket of His heart God, at each healing, at each sermon, at each meeting with a needy one. His words and His touch were the Holy One's.
We still don't comprehend even now the half of God's love for us. How can we? It's infinite and honest and completely, totally selfless. His love is far beyond anything we can experience on earth with these souls that life has jaded. However, if we allow the Lord to speak with His compassion, putting it in the pockets in our hearts, it will begin to "unjade" our souls. We'll even have enough for someone else's heart pocket.
