Old Eagle Tavern, one of the best kept secrets in Manayunk, is an old world neighborhood tavern that specializes in reinvented bar food and excellent craft beer, with eleven rotating drafts, more than 60 varieties of bottled beer and an extensive canned beer selection of national and local crafts and imports. Chef Rich Benussi serves diverse pub fare that is a perfect complement to the Tavern’s beer menu, infusing dishes with various brews and reinventing American classic dishes. The décor in the tavern is decidedly vintage and authentic to a Philadelphia mid-century neighborhood tap room, with illuminated frosted-glass tiles under the wooden bar, vintage beer trays adorning the walls, a pool table, several dartboards, six televisions, a working jukebox, and plenty of tables and bar stools with an authentic carved wood Native American statue and working cigarette machine. Old Eagle Tavern features a different brewery every month with $1 off select drafts every Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday night. The crew at Old Eagle plans monthly beer-centric events that show off their knowledge, selection and diversity.
