Over the next three months (March through May) Sundance Kabuki Cinemas will present HD projections of four operas from recent productions by the San Francisco Opera. Each video will receive two screenings, one on Tuesday evening and the other on Saturday morning. Each Saturday screening will be preceded by a 25-minute lecture beginning at 9:30 a.m. Saturday screenings will begin at 10 a.m., and Tuesday screenings will begin at 7:15 p.m.
The four productions and their respective screening dates are as follows:
- Porgy and Bess (George Gershwin): Tuesday, March 5, and Saturday, March 9
- Aida (Giuseppe Verdi): Tuesday, March 26, and Saturday, March 30
- Boris Godunov (Modest Mussorgsky): Saturday, May 11, and Tuesday, May 14
- Lucrezia Borgia (Gaetano Donizetti): Saturday, May 25, and Tuesday, May 28
Saturday and Tuesday screenings have different admission prices. Admission on Tuesday evenings is $11.50 for adults and $10 for seniors, both of which also require a $2 amenity fee. Saturday morning screenings are $9.50 for adults and seniors and $9 for children, with a $1 amenity fee.
