I know you could easily split the 10 day difference here and we could’ve had the Big One happening four days before the Blessed Day of St. Patrick but why inject reason into this?

Neither one of those guys can carry a PPV show on their own. There’s no Mayweather magic in him fighting either one.
If ever there was a time for HBO to assert itself, it is right now.
If Greenburg and his crew don’t, it’s at the peril of a more knotted situation in trying to remake this big bout.

4. Andre Berto – Berto would be a excellent choice if he beats Mosley.
5. Sergio Martinez – Fighting this monster also would be a bold statement.
6. Timothy Bradley – Bradley is on a roll and has the skills to give Mayweather trouble.
7. Kermit Cintron – This one is acceptable because Cintron is big and powerful.
8. Nate Campbell – Campbell isn’t a great choice but might be smart enough to compete.
9. Devon Alexander – Alexander has fought at welterweight in the past.
10. Luis Collazo – Collazo is a tough, capable guy who will make any opponent work hard.
Some talented fighters on the list but I must ask, other than Manny or Shane, who could electrify the box office or set PPV TV rates en fuego?

forget pac-floyd fight especially when HBO chooses to go either side. there will be more posturing and grooming from both sides if and when they collide march 13 on ppv, the same will happen at the end, no fight will ever be made between the two. sad for boxing, it's the reality and someday, everybody will regret why this fight never happens.

Manny is scheduled for March 13th, and HBO should force Floyd to fight on March 20th, that's fair and HBO can promote both.
I have to disagree with this article ... this hopla is actually creating more buzz and more buzz means more people get interested. Having Manny in Dallas will propably get other sports enthusiasts be involved in boxing. Though there is always pros and cons having Pacquiao & Mayweather fight on the same night dividing the fans, well looking into it, seems like Mayweather's fight (with whom?) is not looking too great at the moment.I believe what Roach had said - Manny doesn't need Mayweather, Manny is bigger and is the current champ and should be the one doing the demands not the other way around. Mayweather was (past tense) bigger draw back then but now he is just a challenger. Some fans no longer care if that megafight pushes through - knowing for a fact that Mayweather is using Xylocaine. Mayweather's popularity is going down, and even if Manny decides to retire without getting into the ring with Mayweather then it's still all fine ...there are a lot of exciting fighters out there.

Clottey is one of the most avoided fighters, just look at this guy, he's a beast. The guy is in top shape all year long, and he can take a punch. Floyd won't get in the ring with Clottey, cause he'll get knocked out. This is the strongest and most versatile fighter Manny has ever faced.

Pacquiao fighting on March 13 makes more sense! Atleast he's putting his Welterweight belt on the line! unlike if Mayweather fights the same day (March 13), it just really shows how desperate they are in competing with what ever Team Pacquiao is doing! After March 13 Mayweather would depreciate in value whether he wins or loses to his cherry-picked lesser opponent as a result of the PPV results of his fight and that of Pacquiao. After that, Pacquiao would not agree to a 50-50 split if ever they negotiated to a future fight. It would be 60-40 for Pacquiao having the bigger purse.
