Kevin Galvan is no stranger to restaurants. It is in the family DNA with a long history of family-friendly dining establishments.

Homage to southern cuisine is the Chicken Fried Burger. It is just like it sounds and topped with jalapeno-bacon cream gravy.

The Taos Chicken Sandwich has poblano peppers, pico de gallo, pepper jack cheese and guacamole. Yes, it is as good as it sounds.

Is A Bella Mushroom is the vegetarian burger on the Haystack menu. It is a grilled portabella mushroom, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle and onion. It can be “veganized” by omitting the Swiss cheese.

Lindsey's Hay Club is ham, turkey, cheddar cheese, pepper jack cheese, Applewood smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayo.

Haystack boasts 12 craft beers on tap including Peticolas Golden Opportunity and Velvet Hammer as well as Deep Ellum’s IPA and Double Brown. Trevor Pulver of Lakewood Brewing Company, Steve Porcari of Four Corners Brewing Company and Daniel Good of Revolver Brewing Company were on hand for the grand opening showcasing their local brews also on tap.

If beer isn’t your thing, Haystack has created an adult beverage that is very interesting. The Haymaker is Maker’s Mark, orange juice, lemonade and iced tea. It has the appearance of applesauce but this is for no baby. This is like a smoothie and goes down very smoothly, indeed.
