Is there any better threesome in the sport of boxing besides Al Haymon, Floyd Mayweather and Richard Schaefer?

Once again, Golden Boy Promotions will guarantee Floyd Mayweather's spot as the undisputed PPV king when he faces Argentine Marcos Maidana on Showtime PPV May 3.

As of today, March 24, both the Guardian and ESPN are reporting that a rumored fight between welterweights Amir Khan and Luis Collazo will take place on the Maywether-Maidana undercard in Vegas.

Since early March, shortly after he announced he would be fighting Maidana at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Mayweather has been baiting Khan to fight on his May 3 undercard. Now, it is official, as the two former titlists will square off with the hopes of facing Mayweather in September.

"Both Amir Khan and Luis Collazo have made it known that they want a shot at the winner of the fight between Floyd Mayweather and Marcos Maidana, so what better way for them to prove that they're next," Golden Boy chief executive Richard Schaefer told ESPN.

Initially, Mayweather suggested Khan fight former titlist Adrien Broner, however, that fight never materialized. Instead, the Bolton fighter gets the Puerto Rican Collazo.

Adding Khan's fan base to this event will almost guarantee over one million PPV buys for Showtime. In addition to Khan's fan base, there will also be heavy Argentinian and Puerto Rican constituencies that will want to tune in on May 3 to watch their fellow countrymen brawl.
