Injuries have taken their toll on the Hawks, with the latest one coming as a knee contusion to Paul Millsap that is forcing him to miss the next few games. The Hawks are also growing anxious about a possible return for center Pero Antic, who has now been out for a month with a stress fracture and does not show signs of returning soon.

To fix the lack of depth, the Hawks have bought out the contract of Mike Muscala with the Spanish team Obradoiro, and signed him for the remainder of the season.

Muscala was drafted in the second round of this past summer's NBA draft. He was Bucknell's all-time leading scorer, but signed with the Spanish league soon after the draft for further development. Now, with injuries decimating the Hawks' front line, Atlanta decided to bring him over for the remainder of this season - and, it is believed, another non-guaranteed season afterwards, giving him a chance to make the squad for next season as well.

Millsap will be out for at least the next two games, and has already missed Saturday's win over the Knicks. In his stead, the Hawks have also signed Dexter Pittman to a 10-day contract.
