The biggest theme so far has been injuries, unfortunately. John Jenkins had to come back to Atlanta for an MRI on his ailing back, and is sitting out for a few days. Gustavo Ayon will be out for at least a month with a shoulder injury.
The Hawks have been running out a statring unit of Jeff Teague and Kyle Korver at the guard spots and Al Horford in the middle. Flanking Horford on the wings have been Paul Millsap and DeMarre Carroll, both signed from Utah this past offseason.
With the other injuries, Mike Scott has been seeing more court time as he tries to get a spot in the team's regular rotation of players. Scott has led the Hawks in scoring in both their games, with 13 points against Miami and 19 points against Charlotte. Point guard Dennis Schroder (drafted this past summer) has also had spots of brilliance, scoring the game-winning bucket on a drive against Charlotte with just 2.1 seconds left.
The Hawks' preseason continues Sunday against the New Orleans Pelicans in Biloxi, MS.
