Hotwire.com®, a principal discount travel site, today announced the January 2013 Hotwire® Travel Savings Indicator, which highlights the upper five North American cities where hotel, air and car rental rates have had the most significant reductions as compared to this time last year. Using all-embracing pricing research to cover the three most popular travel products. And here it is:
#1 Daytona Beach, FL -8% $66 per night
#2 Florida Keys -6% $139 per night
#3 Raleigh, NC -6% $86 per night
#4 Las Vegas, NV -6% $107 per night
#5 Nashville, TN -3% $89 per night
Sunny Daytona is the winner this month with a whopping eight percent drop followed by another Florida favorite, the Florida Keys, Hemmingway’s old haunt, with a six percent drop. While January is normally a busier month for these sun-drenched beach towns, the Northeast’s unseasonably mild winter has translated into diminished demand and, in turn great discounts. Raleigh, returning to the list after a fleeting absence from the list, comes in at the number three spot. Las Vegas, once beaucoup expensive, hits the list for the sixth month in a row! Travelers can expect many last-minute price reductions even on the weekends, as well as some astronomical discounts on magnificent 5-star properties. Nashville rounds out the list with a mere two percent drop.
Air Price Drops:
#1 Honolulu, HI -15% $587 average round trip airfare
#2 Kailua Kona, HI -15% $528 average round trip airfare
#3 Toronto, Ontario -14% $384 average round trip airfare
#4 Memphis, TN -13% $323 average round trip airfare
#5 Kahului, Maui -12% $512 average round trip airfare
Aloha to Hawaii lovers with three tropical Hawaiian resort towns heading the list. As Delta, Hawaiian, United and Alaskan airlines continue to vie for further passengers, each airline is offering extra seats and amazing deals for tourists headed to the Hawaiian Isles. So what are you waiting for?
