Great live Hawaiian music continues on Front Street as the Hawaiian Music Series features falsetto and cha-lang-a-lang (nickname for ukulele strumming pattern) extraordinaire, Kawika Hoopii on Thursday, February 28, from 6:00pm – 7:30 at the Baldwin Home lawn in Lahaina, Maui.
From a family with deep roots in Hawaiian music, Kawika carries the traditional style of music that surrounded him in Kahukuloa Valley where he was raised. His extraordinary falsetto voice and cha-lang-a-lang style of playing the ukulele has taken him all over the country. He has accompanied notable Hawaii entertainers such as Hawaiian Heart, Amy Hanaialii, Willie K and The Leo Nahenahe Serenaders.
On Thursday evening, Kawika Hoopii will be joined by fellow musicians Brandon Hirata and Jeff Lum Lung as they perform traditional Hawaiian favorites.
Polynesian artisans will have specially hand crafted items available in the lawn area.
The combination of great live Hawaiian music, award winning restaurants and vibrant shops, create a great setting for a perfect evening out on the town.
Chairs are limited and blankets, mats, and low beach chairs are welcome. The Baldwin Home Museum is located in the heart of Lahaina, on the corner of Front and Dickenson Street.
