Hawaiian Airlines announced that it will now offer non-stop flights between Los Angeles and Maui this May instead of the previously scheduled June departures due to increased demand in spring travel to the island.
This is good news for the carrier’s frequent flyers that prefer non-stops as opposed to having to land in Honolulu and change plans. Unfortunately for this traveler, the news was too late having already booked a non-stop in June on United since at the time we were looking for flights HA only offered the one-stop option. Although after checking out the fares, Hawaiian tickets cost slightly more than United, so I guess we did well.
But for those of you who enjoy Hawaiian’s Mea Ho'okipa (Aloha spirit) and on-time service, you can now book a non-stop beginning May 1 at 3:40 p.m. from LAX with returns at 11:15 from Maui (OGG) on its Airbus330-200; A second daily flight later in the summer will depart Maui at 9:40 p.m. (starting June30) and LAX to Maui at 1:30 p.m. starting July 1.
Tickets for the new Los Angeles-Maui service are now available for purchase online at HawaiianAirlines.com.
