Aloha all you environmental readers out there!
Here is a day worth celebrating worldwide!
It's World Food Day!
What is World Food Day?
World Food Day is a day that gives opportunities to fight against hunger.
This helps to educate all ages about the importance of food, to focus where it is needed, to observe and understand problems about the food sources, to raise awareness, and to find solutions that helps drive the end to worldwide hunger.
When is World Food Day?
October 16, 2013
Is there a theme for World Food Day?
This 2013 year's theme is "Sustainable Food Systems for Food Security and Nutrition".
When was it founded and who started it?
- In 1945, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) was founded.
- In 1979, FAO had established the World Food Day.
- In 1981, World Food Day was observed as the annual education day.
