“I want to ride the rides, especially the Tornado, and listen to good music,” says teen Austin Hartbarger about the upcoming Hawaii Teen Muzik Festival scheduled for Saturday, October 5 at Wet ‘N’ Wild.
With the festival landing on the first day of fall break for public schools, tickets are expected to go fast, especially with a lineup of entertainers and activities that will keep attendees filled with excitement.
Gates open at 5 p.m., at which point, teens can explore the seven areas of entertainment that will be supervised by Hawaii Police Department, employees of Wet ‘N’ Wild, and high school volunteers to ensure a safe, drug-free, alcohol-free, zero-tolerance event.
For those who want to get “wet ‘n’ wild”, Area 6 Splash City includes: DJs Wizard, Betty, and MC TC. Area 4 Waterpark will be open from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. for those who want to ride the rides at night. Rides open include: Flowrider, Big Kahuna, Island Racer, Raging River, and Tornado.
If you need some high energy sounds and heavy bass, check out Area 1 Lazer Spectrum, which includes: DJs RDR, Technique, Massfunk, and Dirty Secret, playing EDM, dubstep, house, and trance.
With Rebel Souljahz and the Jimmy Weeks project performing live at Area 2 Reggae Rhythm, most attendees are planning to spend most of their time there.
“I hope to experience good vibes and good times with friends,” says teen Ryan Aquino who plans to be in Area 2.
For those top hits radio listeners and bboys/bgirls, Area 3 Power Zone is the place to be. Included in this area are Hawaii’s top club DJs playing Hip-Hop, mashups, and the Top 40, along with hosts Micah Banks and Romeo Valentine of Power 104.3.
Area 7 Social Media is for those who love being in pictures and love to get involved. Here, you will find a free photo booth and other activities.
Before leaving the festival, be sure to check out Area 5 Thrift Shop, which includes tons of vendors who will be selling everything from clothes to accessories.
“It’ll be a great experience. Everyone should go!” says Hartbarger.
